The Private Satellite Program (PSP) is a homeschool option unique to California. In these programs, the parent is responsible for all academic instruction, but the school is responsible for administration, so students formally enroll in the PSP as they would with any private school . Families benefit from academic guidance, community, extra curricular activities, field trips and legal protection from truancy accusations. Many parents enroll their children in both a PSP and a part-time school. However, students may not be enrolled in both a PSP and a charter school.
